Imaging for Athletic Injuries and Conditions (2016)

Upon completion of this home study course, participants will:

  1. Identify the optimal imaging modality for the evaluation of selected musculoskeletal pathology in athletes.
  2. Understand which standard (plain) radiograph view is appropriate for various musculoskeletal pathology.
  3. Understand the limitations of musculoskeletal imaging as related to athletic injuries and pathology.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of clinical decision rules to guide the selection of musculoskeletal imaging.
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based guidelines for the selection and recommendation of imaging for musculoskeletal injuries in athletes.
