    This program will offer an overview of common strength and conditioning principles related to the young athlete. Topics will vary from new research in the realm of youth strength training to exercise prescription and dosing and leave the viewer better equipped to implement an exercise program for young athletes.

    Strength and conditioning have long been debated topics for young athletes. As more research is published suggesting the benefits of strength training for kids, education on strength training is essential to debunking myths and ensuring proper exercise prescription. As we often hear, kids are not just tiny adults, and therefore we should be mindful of how we use strength training with our youth athletes.

      Benjamin is a physical therapist at Children’s Wisconsin in their sports and orthopedic department. Prior to working at Children’s Wisconsin, Benjamin completed an orthopedic residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Benjamin is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
