Tommy John surgery is commonly used in overhead athletes that develop a tear in their ulnar collateral ligament. The rehab should follow a progressive program that is well thought out and evidence based. This lecture will discuss the surgery, rehab and special considerations for the overhead athlete to safely return them to their sport.
Lenny Macrina has been practicing physical therapy for 19 years. He currently practices at Champion Physical Therapy and Performance in Waltham, MA where he is a co-founder and Director of Physical Therapy.
Lenny is a board certified sports physical therapist by the American Physical Therapy Association and a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Along with maintaining a full clinic schedule, he participates in clinical research with the American Sports
Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL and has co-authored several current concept papers, book chapters, and research papers while presenting at various national conferences.
